Dance Workshops with Voltaire Wade-Greene and Demetia Hopkins-Greene

Voltaire Wade-Greene

Voltaire Wade-Greene began his dance training at Civic Dance Center in Bakersfield, California. He received a full scholarship to the Rock School’s year round program where he graduated in 2004.  He has had additional training at the Orange School of Performing Arts, San Francisco Ballet, Dance Theater of Harlem and University of The Arts.  Currently the Dance Captain at Hamilton (OBC ensemble swing, Mulligan/Madison cover), Jesus Christ Superstar (The Muny).  TV: Smash.  Regional: In The Heights, A Chorus Line, Annie Get Your Gun, and Some Like It Hot.  Concert dance: Contrast Dance Theater, Charlottesville Ballet and Alison Chase Performance.

Demetia Hopkins-Greene
​Demetia Hopkins-Greene began her dance training in Orange, Virginia at the Orange School of Performing Arts under the direction of her uncle, Ricardo Porter, and Heather Powell. Mrs. Hopkins-Greene graduated with honors from the Ailey/Fordham B.F.A. Program in 2009. Hopkins-Greene was a member of Ailey II and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater from 2010-2016.  She was a recipient of a Leonore Annenberg Fellowship in the Arts in 2011, was named one of Dance magazine’s 2014 “Top 25 To Watch”, and was listed on the Huffington Post's list of "26 Black Female Choreographers and Dancers You Should Know." Demetia is currently a freelance artist living and working in New York City. She is proud to be Co-Artistic Director of the Orange School of Performing Arts.

Advanced Dance Workshop

Note: Changes have been made to this workshop dates/cost

This workshop explores multiple styles of dance from hip hop to contemporary with hints of ballet.  Dancers will learn pieces from “Hamilton”, “In the Heights” and “Jesus Christ Superstar” and original pieces; concentrating on building dance techniques, increasing proficiency in dance performance and pointers on auditioning.  This workshop is perfect for serious experienced/advanced dancers over 12 years old who want to have fun dancing with  “Hamilton” Dance Captain Voltaire Wade-Greene and dance choreographer and educator Demetia Hopkins-Greene.

Hamilton Dance Workshop

In this workshop dancers will learn one of the iconic dances from Tony Award winning Broadway hit “Hamilton”.  Taught by “Hamilton” Dance Captain and current “Madison/Mulligan” Swing Voltaire Wade-Greene.  This workshop is perfect for all skill levels and ages who love to dance and want to have fun learning in the “Hamilton” show style.
